Rain in Summer

Before the Sun goes to bed,
The sky raises its voice against the harsh weather,
It is raining in summer…

Thin & light,
All patches of dark clouds come together as a battalion
An army of cumulus cloud…

They pour on dusty roads & leaves
They run along the warm concrete walls
Setting peace and settling disarray…

Knocking rain drops on the window pane,
And the sound of rain shower,
Invites me to balcony to smell the wet mud…

Facing to the compassionate clouds,
I stand under eave,
Stretching my hands to the Rain…

Tiny water drops hit my skin
And halts here,
Forming a constellation of sparkling water beads!

After weeks of dust & heat,
Plants embrace the rain as it cleanses off the grime,
Regains the moisture, up for another sunbathe…

I see lightning striking down,
Letting a part of earth to be in the spotlight,
Here comes the Thunderbolt; God’s own firework!

My thirst quenched, I get back to mattress,
The trances of Twilight rain still linger around me,
Finally, it rained in summer…

P.S: Inspired by last night’s rain :)

At Countryside.....

Far from busy city roads & honking horns,
I lay on lushes green grass of countryside,
Basking in the warm evening sun….

No one to interrupt, none to peeve me,
All I can hear is moos of cows,
Chirping of birds & tranquil silence….

My goggle gives a sepia shade for all that I view,
There is a hunger pang which I feel,
A cup of cappuccino & Enrique music all I need now….

Blue sky spreads wide, all-embracing,
Lark glides over me before hitting greens,
The golden hour ticks away, as the sun go down….

PS: Sagarkatte, full of inspiration :)

Malice Behind!

Blood splashes hard,
Against the rock walls of heart,
Failed to wash away the clenching malice!
It sticks firmly,
Like a determined rock climber,
No sign of giving up!
It starts sucking her strength,
Like fluid, like blood,
A heartless parasite!
She shakes off vigorously,
It smashes down, shattered,
Yet, lumps up & starts hounding her!
She lams on, gasping her breath,
She tumbles on everything on her way,
Utterly stripped & scarred!
A glimpse at the rear of her,
Makes her muster enough courage for a long-haul,
She runs again with a broken limb,
And they chase her away ruthlessly!!!

On a lethargic Sunday evening....

I woke up after a prolonged nap, in fact it is incorrect to mention it as nap; it was prolonged sleep. My clock displayed 5:00 p.m. Sun rays were gently peeping in & my room was filled with subtle shades of light, faint shadows of curtains & sound of wind chime.

I decided to go for a long walk; let me not forget to mention that I love walking. Not a brisk one, but an easy stroll.  In couple of mins I was up with pair of jeans, T-shirt, stole & my CAM!
I thought of capturing some pics of sunset & evening walker. I left for lovely walk with a wonderful company i: e; one’s own company.

As I was passing, I saw young boys playing cricket at a small ground and X-large Orange Sun was witnessing it.  Boys were so involved in their game, "The Gully Cricket" & I just captured a glimpse of it.

I continued to move. I had almost skipped walking from past one month, so I was looking all around to see if there were any changes which I have to notice!

Within a span of 10-15 mins Sun was down & sky was covered with cloak of twilight.

Temperature gradually went down, from warm to cold, street lights were turned on, few glowed & few flickered, closed tea shop, and on an empty long road I alone with my phone singing some melodies track at low vol.

I enjoyed the weather, the lilac colored sky, those chirping birds, the lonely dark tree, the calmness. It was like mild massage to my mind which was busy & over occupied for a week.  I basked in the pleasant ambience.
Sometimes I prefer to walk alone, because I get time for myself, I get time to think, recollect & Dream. Yes, I am a big time dreamer and an evening walk like this influence & complement it.

While returning home I recollected my childhood days, when I used to play with my own shadow. The innocence, when I tried to run faster than my shadow. Even today watching shadows & reflection is fun for me.

I was back to home with a contented & rejuvenated heart. All set for another productive week.

Below I have attached some of the pics which I took.

Pani Puri!

The name itself is mystifying.  Pani = water, puri = which is crunchy, two contrasting thing together results into an awe-inspiring taste!

The sourness of tamarind, spicy taste of coriander & green chilies, dash of jaggery, nutty taste of cumin, tangy aroma of mint leaves along with salt & water makes a drink which rejuvenates & awakens the dull & dead taste buds.
While doing little research on the same, I came to know that Pani Puri is a famous chat all over India. Even it is a delicacy in Nepal.  Each region has its own modifications/ additions in recipe and also has different names. Pani Puri is also known as Gol gappa in Delhi, Phuchka in Bengal & Gup Chup in Orissa & southern part of Jharkhand.

Some add boiled potatoes, boondi/sev & some add sprouts to enhance the taste. Pani Puri can be prepared with different types of Pani, like tamarind or lime or mint. I always prefer Teekha Pani, but a mixture of both teekha & meetha in a proper proportion is also a nice combo.

As I was wondering about modifications that can be done on the recipe so that it becomes Navya’s style of Pani Puri, a word struck to my mind, and that is “Vodka”! Yes, I wondered how good it would be to replace plain water with vodka & little of soda (to dilute the alcohol) and retaining rest of recipe. It would be another cocktail presented with Puri. Should try preparing & tasting once. ;)

The roadside Madka puri is another similar & amazing chat. On a small stool a big basket of properly arranged puris and variety of masala powder along with pot of meetha & teekha Pani. I devour when he serve one gol gappa after another in that small pretty plate.  The whole joyful ride of tasty chat ends at a great note of sukha puri. Its taste last for a long time in my mouth. Like SRK & Anushka did in Rabne banadi Jodi movie, even I should check my capacity of consuming Pani Puris.

On whole, Pani Puri ya Gol Gappa it is a Jink Jakk chat.  Jai ho Pani Puri!!  J

P.S: Author has not tasted vodka yet.

Music……

Music has a precious & sacred place in my life… It means a lot for me.  It has proved to be one of my true allies of life till now.
I listen to music when I am too happy & when I am just low. It has been part of both sunny & blue days of my life!
Music is a thing which doesn’t leave me alone, even when I am all alone in this alien world. It is so divine for me, in the sense I can feel it whenever I want & rest of the time it is just around me. Even though I don’t listen, my heart will always sense it just like air.
Music is present in all small & big things.
The splattering sound of rain drops on window pane is music and the jingling sound of mum’s bangles when she is busy in kitchen is music for me. Sound of wind chime, bells, flow of water from tap & laughter of a kid is music for me. And my best experience of music is when he calls my name with love!
When I was just 5 yrs and my mum in noon (i.e.; my nap time) used to go to pick my brother from his school, she used to keep radio ON. So that by hearing to radio I would assume that someone is at home and the innocent kid used to fall asleep again, or at least continue to lie on bed. This is how Music is my companion right from child hood. :)
Music heals most of my wounds & sorrows at least temporarily; it gives soothing effect and changes my mood. It helps to puke out all frustrations which had been suppressed deep inside my heart for a long time. Listening to songs has helped me to improve vocabs in couple of languages.
I like both slow romantics no’s and fast beats. Each mood has its own set of songs. Some are for morning walks; some are to celebrate when my code works in 1 shot, some are to enjoy bath, some are known for awesome lyrics, some are for leisure time, many for happy times & many more when I am sad & depressed! There was not even a single day where I have not listened to music. It was, it is & it will be there forever.
Music & I share a strong bond. Music is my Best Friend!! I just Love Music. :)
